Overview
Cochlear is the global market leader in implant hearing solutions. The Sales Manager – Systems role is field-based and accountable for driving cochlear implant (CI) systems growth through new patient acquisition and market expansion across the assigned territories, including parts of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Uttarakhand, and J&K (with related activity in Delhi). The position requires engaging surgeons, audiologists, hospital administrators, and establishing new implant centers while traveling within the territory to achieve revenue targets and expand Cochlear's market footprint. This role has no people management responsibility and focuses on systems sales execution and market expansion within the geography.
Responsibilities
- Execute territory-level CI systems sales plans to achieve revenue and volume targets.
- Drive new candidate acquisition through hospitals, implant centers, and clinician partnerships; prioritize high-potential accounts to maximize systems penetration.
- Advance opportunities from identification through closure using structured sales discipline; ensure compliance with pricing, governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Engage with ENT surgeons, audiologists, OR staff, and hospital stakeholders; articulate clinical value, technology differentiation, and outcomes of Cochlear CI systems.
- Drive healthcare professional engagement through clinical/product discussions; conduct product presentations and account reviews with hospital/institutional stakeholders.
- Develop and sustain long-term partnerships to drive continued system utilization; provide market intelligence and competitive insights to inform strategy.
- Identify opportunities to develop new cochlear implant centers; onboard hospitals, clinics, and surgeons; coordinate systems education and activation milestones.
- Track onboarding progress, activation milestones, and systems contribution; strengthen regional referral pathways with clinicians involved in candidate identification.
- Maintain accurate opportunity, account, and activity data in Salesforce; manage pipeline and participate in territory/pipeline reviews with the Area Business Manager – Systems.
- Collaborate with Services, Marketing, Clinical, and Operations teams to support systems objectives and enable seamless territory execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science; MBA or related science field preferred.
- 5–10 years of sales and product specialist experience in healthcare or relevant field.
- Excellent sales and influencing skills; strong oral, written, and presentation communication.
- Understanding of institutional, B2C, and B2B sales processes and solid commercial acumen.
- Experience collaborating within multinational teams; proven ability to build and nurture stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to work independently with cross-functional influence in a complex environment.
- Experience creating business plans and sales objectives; willingness and ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
