Role Description

The Sales Associate/Optometrist role at OPTISCH EYEWEAR is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The role involves greeting and assisting customers, understanding their vision needs and style preferences, and recommending suitable frames, lenses, and eye care solutions. Responsibilities include conducting or supporting eye examinations (as qualified), explaining prescriptions, and ensuring accurate measurements and fittings for eyewear. The role also covers maintaining visual merchandising standards, managing basic store operations, and handling billing and customer follow-up. The Sales Associate/Optometrist collaborates with the team to meet sales targets, provide consistent, high-quality customer service, and uphold professional and ethical standards in eye care.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage customers, understand needs, and provide clear guidance.
• Sales and retail experience, including product recommendation, cross-selling, and comfort working with sales targets.
• Optical or optometry background (Diploma or Degree in Optometry preferred), with knowledge of eye examinations, prescriptions, and lens types.
• Attention to detail and manual dexterity for accurate measurements, fittings, and handling eyewear and optical instruments.
• Effective communication skills in English; proficiency in local languages in Bengaluru is an advantage.
• Basic computer literacy for billing, inventory checks, and record-keeping.
• Ability to work on-site full time, including weekends or extended hours as required in a retail environment.
• Previous experience in optical retail or eye care clinics is beneficial but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates with relevant education.
