Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience as a Safety Officer in civil construction/infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts/conditions.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, statutory regulations, and client safety requirements.
• Conduct safety induction programs and toolbox talks for employees and subcontractors.
• Monitor the usage and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Implement and monitor Permit to Work (PTW) systems for high-risk activities.
• Carry out Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA/JSA) and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare detailed reports.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, subcontractors, and client representatives on safety matters.
• Participate in internal and client safety audits and ensure timely closure of observations.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across project sites.

Job Description

We are looking for a Safety Officer with 1 to 3 years of experience in civil construction or infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and client EHS requirements across project sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and conditions.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, statutory regulations, and client safety requirements.
• Conduct safety induction programs and daily toolbox talks for employees and subcontractors.
• Monitor the usage and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Implement and monitor Permit to Work (PTW) systems for high-risk activities.
• Carry out Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA/JSA) and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare detailed reports.
• Monitor excavation, lifting, confined space, work at height, electrical, and hot work activities for safe execution.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, incident registers, training records, and statutory documentation.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, subcontractors, and client representatives on safety matters.
• Participate in internal and client safety audits and ensure timely closure of observations.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across project sites.

Candidate Profile

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Engineering or any relevant discipline.
• Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized institution.
• 1 to 3 years of experience as a Safety Officer in civil construction, pipeline, UGSS, water supply, STP, or infrastructure projects.
• Sound knowledge of construction safety practices, PTW, HIRA/JSA, PPE management, and accident investigation.
• Good communication, reporting, and coordination skills.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Willing to travel and work at project sites across Tamil Nadu.
