Functional Safety Lead – VLSI / SoC

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Functional Safety Lead (VLSI/SoC) to plan and lead functional safety activities in compliance with ISO 26262 for semiconductor hardware design.

You will collaborate with IP and SoC development teams, drive safety analysis, audits, and verification methodologies, and ensure the highest standards of ASIL compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead ISO 26262 functional safety activities for ASIC/SoC designs.
• Perform safety analysis: FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, SPFM/LFM/PMHF calculations.
• Develop and deploy functional safety verification methodologies for digital & analog designs.
• Define safety plans, test strategies, and verification templates.
• Evaluate and integrate commercial safety verification tools.
• Review, certify, and act as the gatekeeper of safety quality across IP & SoC projects.
• Provide technical guidance and training on FuSa to design & verification teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s / Master’s in Engineering, Electronics, VLSI, or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in ASIC/SoC design, verification, or functional safety.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of direct experience with ISO 26262 / IEC 61508.
• Hands-on with FMEA, FTA, FMEDA and ASIL decomposition.
• Proven background in automotive ASIC/VLSI development and FuSa methodology.
• Strong knowledge of:
• SoC architecture, ARM cores, AMBA bus, DDR, and peripherals
• ISO 26262 focus on Part 4, Part 5, and Part 11 (semiconductors).
• Experience with safety metrics & verification automation tools.
