Job summary

NXT Talent Studio in India seeks a Safety Engineer (m/f/d) to join its Functional Safety Competence Center in a leading-edge semiconductor environment. The role requires a BE/BTech in Electronics/EE/CE and 5–8 years of semiconductor product development with exposure to functional safety standards such as ISO

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–8 years of semiconductor product development with exposure to functional safety.
• Strong understanding of MCU/MPU architectures in automotive or industrial safety domains.
• Familiarity with IP- and SoC-level safety mechanisms and safety analysis techniques.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Hands-on with automotive/industrial functional safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508).

Your Responsibilities

• Define, analyze, and validate safety concepts and architectures for safety-compliant semiconductor products.
• Develop functional safety requirements and ensure comprehensive traceability throughout the development lifecycle.
• Perform thorough safety analyses at IP and SoC levels to address potential risks and establish robust mitigation mechanisms.
• Partner closely with systems, hardware, software, and implementation teams to deliver robust, certifiable solutions.
• Drive and ensure a Functional Safety-compliant development process aligned with industry safety standards.

Your Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 5–8 years of experience in semiconductor product development with exposure to functional safety.
• Strong understanding of microcontroller and microprocessor architectures and their application in automotive or industrial safety domains.
• Strong understanding of IP- and SoC-level safety mechanisms and safety analysis techniques.
• Self-driven, analytical, and solution-oriented approach with strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Business fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Strong background in chip design architecture combined with high motivation to learn and specialize in Functional Safety.
• Hands-on experience with relevant automotive and industrial functional safety standards (such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508).
