Job Description: The Automotive Functional Safety Engineer is responsible for:
- Work with ISO26262 work products such as Technical Safety Concept, Safety Plan, Safety Manual, Safety Case etc.
- Work with internal product development teams to ensure coordinated functional safety compliance and coverage.
- Work with internal team to evaluate requirements related to quality, functional safety, and automotive reliability.
- Work closely with the Functional Safety Architects on projects and task planning, progress tracking and reporting.
- Create the safety case report including the safety analysis results.
- Create a test plan, test cases to cover all levels of IP & system safety validation.
- Participate in functional safety reviews and provide reports.
- Support Fault Injection Tests specifications and test result evaluation.
Key Qualifications
- Must have degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent education with 8+ years of relevant Engineering experience.
- Understanding of semiconductor development flows & experience with digital design at IP/SoC level preferable.
- Experience / knowledge of safety related engineering processes and analysis methods (e.g. FTA, FMEDA, FMEA, DFA), especially on ISO26262.
- Experience in working on ISO 26262 is an advantage as Functional Safety Engineer in safety critical applications with solid understanding of hardware and/or software development and functional lifecycle management.
- Experience in qualifying products with embedded hardware and/or software to various ISO 26262 ASIL levels up to ASIL D.
- Excellent communication skills, analytical mindset, debug skills, working as an individual contributor and sense of ownership.
- Fluent in English written and spoken.
