Job description

1. Safety Policy Implementation

• Implement company Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies at the site.
• Ensure compliance with government safety regulations and standards.
• Promote a safe working culture among all workers and staff.

2. Site Safety Monitoring

• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits at the work site.
• Identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and take corrective actions.
• Ensure all work activities follow approved safety procedures.

3. Risk Assessment

• Perform Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) for site activities.
• Prepare and implement Job Safety Analysis (JSA) before starting critical work.
• Suggest control measures to minimize risks.

4. Permit to Work System

• Issue and monitor work permits such as:
• Hot Work Permit
• Height Work Permit
• Confined Space Entry Permit
• Electrical Work Permit
• Ensure safety precautions are followed before approving permits.

5. Safety Training & Awareness

• Conduct safety inductions for new workers and staff.
• Organize toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions.
• Educate workers on PPE usage and safe work practices.

6. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Ensure proper use of PPE such as helmets, safety shoes, gloves, harness, goggles, etc.
• Monitor availability and condition of PPE at the site.

7. Accident / Incident Investigation

• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.
• Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive measures.
• Maintain accident records and statistics.

8. Emergency Preparedness

• Develop emergency response plans for fire, medical emergencies, or accidents.
• Conduct mock drills and evacuation drills.
• Ensure availability of first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency equipment.

9. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain all HSE records and documentation.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.
• Ensure compliance documentation for audits and inspections.

10. Coordination with Project Team

• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and workers regarding safety requirements.
• Ensure safety measures during PEB erection, lifting operations, and working at height.

11. Environmental Protection

• Ensure proper waste disposal and environmental protection measures.
• Monitor dust control, noise levels, and pollution control.

12. Continuous Improvement

• Suggest improvements to enhance site safety performance.
• Encourage reporting of near misses and unsafe conditions.

13. Duties as Assigned by HOD-

• The duties of the Safety Supervisor include, but are not limited to, the points mentioned above. In addition to these responsibilities, the deputed person will be responsible for maintaining necessary documentation and ensuring required coordination for project execution, system improvement, and site activities, as directed by the HOD, to ensure smooth workflow.
