Job summary

Motherson is seeking an EHS professional to drive environmental, health, and safety initiatives at our Tamil Nadu facility. The role focuses on regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and the management of audits and corrective actions to ensure safe production operations.

Responsibilities include conducting HIRA/JSA, leading PTW management, and promoting safety training and near-miss reporting. The position emphasizes sustainability initiatives and incident investigations to prevent recurrence.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• EHS Compliance & Audits:
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable environmental and safety regulations.
  • Conduct internal EHS audits and support for external audits (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Maintain legal compliances inline to the requirements
  • Perform HIRA and JSA for all activities as per the operation
  • Conduct EHS line qualification audit before line is dedicated for the production
  • Tracking and closure of all customer audit points in a timely manner
• Risk Management & Safety Systems:
  • Lead hazard identification, risk assessment (HIRA), and implement control measures.
  • Implement and monitor Permit to work (PTW) system
  • Monitor and improve safety declaration systems and consequence management mechanisms.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Drive Behaviour based safety and train observers at a regular interval.
  • Drive closure of near misses in a timely manner
• Training & Awareness:
  • Conduct EHS induction and periodic training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Drive safety campaigns, toolbox talks, and weekly EHS advisories.
  • Promote employee engagement in safety initiatives (e.g., near miss reporting).
• Operational Support:
  • Preparation of weekly/monthly MIS reports.
  • Review and approve work permits, JSA, and LOTO procedures.
  • Ensure PPE compliance and emergency preparedness.
• Sustainability & Environmental Initiatives:
  • Monitor environmental parameters (air, water, waste) and support sustainability goals.
  • Drive initiatives for energy conservation, waste reduction, and pollution control.
