Job description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive ROS Engineer to join our core engineering team. The ideal candidate will provide technical development and advanced support regarding robotic software middleware, perception algorithms, and autonomous navigation. You will be responsible for designing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Visual SLAM systems, multi-sensor fusion pipelines, and simulation environments to ensure optimal real-world robotic performance. This role requires a blend of strong technical knowledge in ROS2, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and an innovation-oriented mind set.

Responsibilities:
  • Architecture & Technical Leadership: Serve as the chief technical architect for autonomous navigation software, designing highly scalable state estimation, localization, and control systems targeting complex GPS-denied environments.
  • Advanced Multi-Sensor Fusion: Oversee the development and tuning of Visual-Inertial Sensor Fusion systems using VINS-Fusion to optimize real-time robot pose estimation across heterogeneous camera and IMU configurations.
  • Production SLAM Pipelines: Architect robust Visual SLAM (VSLAM) solutions utilizing RTAB-Map to construct consistent, production-grade 3D environment reconstructions, keyframe databases, and reliable loop-closure nodes.
  • Perception & Vision Systems: Build and deploy performance-critical computer vision software modules using OpenCV for real-time feature extraction, point cloud optimization, spatial tracking, and algorithmic decision-making.
  • ROS2 Framework Management: Design and modularize secure, optimized ROS2 system architectures using C++ and Python in a Linux ecosystem, standardizing production code standards and custom communication layers.
  • Simulation & Validation Guardrails: Supervise and review the construction of exact-replica simulation testbeds within Gazebo and PX4 flight stacks to continuously run defensive regression testing prior to hardware deployment.
  • Cross-Functional Escalation: Directly collaborate with infrastructure, embedded systems, and network security engineering leads to resolve system bottlenecks and optimize compute allocations on physical platforms.
Requirements and Skills:
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related advanced engineering domain.
  • Experience: 5+ years of verified industry experience as a Senior ROS Developer, Lead Robotics Engineer, or structural designer of autonomous field robotics.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comprehensive master-level control of ROS2 middleware (security, lifecycle nodes, complex action servers) and Linux systems.
  • Direct field-proven experience deploying VINS-Fusion, RTAB-Map, and OpenCV configurations to production.
  • Advanced capability with Docker infrastructure orchestration, Git workflows, and integrated Gazebo/PX4 validation pipelines.
  • Hardware Mastery: Expert in optimizing real-time computing tasks on resource-constrained platforms (NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi) alongside depth sensors (Intel RealSense series) and tactical-grade IMUs.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional technical communication, project management, and peer mentorship skills.
  • High-stress problem-solving capability with a proven track record of handling complex turnkey deployments under aggressive timelines.
  • Ability to align executive stakeholders, clients, and technical teams through clear system architectural reviews.
