Job summary

Dalmia Cement in Belagavi District, Karnataka seeks a Logistics/Vehicle Planning professional to coordinate daily truck placements aligned with dispatch plans. The role requires managing vehicle types (20-40 MT, bag trucks, bulkers & LCVs) and engaging transporters to handle routes, delays, and contingencies.

You will support weighbridge, invoicing, E-way bills, and loading sequences while ensuring accurate destination mapping and adherence to safety norms.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating logistics and dispatch in a manufacturing or cement supply chain.
• Familiarity with SAP or TMS systems.
• Ability to manage vehicle types and routing with peak demand handling.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily truck placement as per dispatch plan (bagged / bulk). Align with dispatch, sales, and production for priority movements.
• Ensure availability of the right vehicle type (20-40 MT, bag trucks, bulkers & LCVs).
• Coordinate with transporters and act as single point of contact for orders and routes.
• Handle transporter issues: non-reporting, delays, breakdowns, route constraints.
• Coordinate with weighbridge and dispatch teams for invoice generation, E-way bill compliance, loading sequence management, ensuring correct destination, route, and customer mapping.
• Monitor Turnaround Time (TAT) and reduce congestion at entry gate, weighbridge, packing plant; ensure FIFO loading.
• Enforce compliance & safety: RC, DL, insurance, pollution certificates, PPE, tarpaulin coverage; control night movement and local norms; freight cost control.
• Track vehicle status in SAP / TMS; share daily MIS; support audit and reconciliation of freight bills.
• Coordinate damage, shortage, or rejection cases; interface with Sales, Dispatch, Security, transports, and local administration.

Job description

• Vehicle Planning & Placement - Coordinate daily truck placement as per dispatch plan (bagged / bulk). Align with dispatch, sales, and production for priority movements, Ensure availability of the right vehicle type (20-40 MT, bag trucks, bulkers & LCVs), Manage peak demand, and emergency placements.
• Coordination with Transporters -Act as the single point of contact for transporters, Allocate orders as per the routes & order size. Handle transporter issues: non-reporting, delays, breakdowns, route constraints. Ensure adherence to dedicated vs market vehicle norms.
• Dispatch & Documentation Support -Coordinate with weighbridge and dispatch teams for, Invoice generation, E-way bill compliance, Loading sequence management, Ensure correct destination, route, and customer mapping. Avoid misrouting, short loading, and wrong consignee dispatches.
• Turnaround Time (TAT) - Monitor TAT, Reduce congestion at, Entry gate, Weighbridge, Packing plant Ensure FIFO loading unless priority approved.
• Compliance & Safety - Enforce, Valid RC, DL, insurance, pollution certificates, Helmet, safety shoes, reflectors, Ensure tarpaulin coverage for bag movement. Control night movement and local administration norms. Freight Cost & Control - Ensure dispatches are within approved freight rates.
• SAP / System Updates- Track vehicle status in SAP / TMS, Reporting/Empty, Loaded, Dispatched, Share daily MIS, Planned vs actual dispatch, Vehicle shortages, Pending orders, Support audit and reconciliation of freight bills.
• Exception Handling- Customer destination change requests, Vehicle re-routing, Breakdowns and transhipment, Coordinate damage, shortage, or rejection cases. Stakeholder Coordination -Interface with Sales & marketing, Dispatch & packing, Security & gate, Transporters & drivers, Local administration (RTO, police, unions)
