Job description

RITES Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has invited applications for filling up one post of Group General Manager (Civil) on deputation basis. The vacancy circular (No. 21/26-D) was issued on 14 September 2026.

Who Can Apply

The post is open only to Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) officers working at:

Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) or Non-Functional SAG (NFSAG) level, or

Selection Grade (SG) level with at least 18 years of Group ‘A’ service.

Candidates must not be more than 57 years of age as on the last date of application.

Location, Tenure and Pay

Place of posting: Mumbai (can be posted anywhere in India or abroad as per organisational requirement)

Tenure: Normal deputation period of three years, extendable based on performance and need

Pay: 7th CPC Level-13 for eligible SG officers and Level-14 for SAG/NFSAG officers. Officers will draw parent pay plus deputation allowance and other admissible perks.

RITES will also provide company or leased accommodation as per entitlement.

Selection Process

• Educational Qualification – 15 marks
• APARs of last five years – 25 marks
• Interview (domain knowledge, experience, managerial competency and overall suitability) – 50 marks

Only those scoring 60% or above will be considered for the merit list.

How and When to Apply

Last date for receipt of duly forwarded applications is 28 October 2026 (45 days from the date of the circular). Applications received after the deadline or without proper documents will not be considered.

The Ministry of Railways has already granted exemption from the rule of immediate absorption for officers on deputation to RITES for three years beyond 31 August 2023.
