Job summary

Amazon’s EPR team is seeking a seasoned compliance program leader in India to oversee PRO contracting, regulatory registrations, and audit responses. You will shape product classification, build monitoring systems, and design selling-partner controls while partnering with Legal, Product, Data Science, and Engineering to scale global compliance programs.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in compliance/risk roles, a bachelor’s degree, strong Excel skills, and experience with audits.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance and Operations

• Oversee the complete selection and contracting process for Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs) across different jurisdictions.
• Manage regulatory registrations and reporting requirements with public authorities, ensuring submissions are accurate and completed on time.
• Coordinate responses for regulatory audits and maintain all relevant records and supporting documentation.
• Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support smooth EPR compliance workflows.

Product Classification and Data Management

• Lead the implementation and ongoing management of product classification requirements.
• Manage classification logic, rules, and algorithm development to ensure products are categorized correctly.
• Build monitoring systems to track classification accuracy and improve overall performance.

Selling Partner Compliance

• Design and execute compliance control frameworks for Selling Partners.
• Work with cross-functional teams to apply compliance controls across different product categories.

Process Improvement and Operational Excellence

• Identify ways to simplify compliance processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Use data, metrics, and performance insights to drive continuous improvement across EPR compliance programs.

About the Team

The Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) team manages Amazon’s global EPR compliance strategy, ensuring alignment with post-consumer waste regulations across packaging, electronics, batteries, and textiles.

The team’s goal is to support circular economy outcomes for Selling Partners, Vendors, and customers by connecting every product sold to verified recovery results that are transparent, measurable, and auditable.

The team works closely with Legal, Business, Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to build and scale compliance programs globally. EPR is part of Amazon’s broader Regulatory Intelligence, Safety and Compliance (RISC) organization, which focuses on protecting customers from illegal, unsafe, or prohibited products.

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
• Background in compliance, audit, or risk management.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to improve performance.
• Professional auditing certification or similar risk/compliance credential.
• Experience working with SQL and advanced Excel.
