Job summary

Magma General Insurance Limited seeks a Lead Risk Engineer to head the Risk Engineering function, coordinating with Commercial Underwriting, LOB Heads, and third-party vendors. Responsible for overseeing risk surveys, loss prevention reports, and investigations to drive safety and underwriting quality.

The role requires strong technical knowledge of fire protection systems, risk assessment, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to influence underwriting decisions.

Qualifications

• Preferably engineer in chemical, mechanical or electrical disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of industrial fire protection and detection systems and fire prevention standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Risk Engineering function in coordination with underwriting, LOB Heads and third-party vendors.
• Conduct and review risk surveys, loss prevention reports, accident investigations, and follow-up inspections.
• Evaluate risk exposures, prepare survey and PML reports, maintain risk profiles, and provide inputs for underwriting decisions.
• Recommend risk improvement and loss prevention measures with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Identify process, technology and virtual survey enhancements and prepare MIS for tracking risk engineering activities.

• Evaluate risk exposures, prepare survey and PML reports, maintain complete risk profiles, and provide actionable inputs for underwriting decisions.
• Recommend and drive risk improvement and loss prevention measures in collaboration with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Identify process, technology, and virtual survey enhancements, and prepare MIS for tracking risk engineering activities.

Qualifications

Preferably Engineer (Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical)

Required Skills

Strong technical knowledge of industrial fire protection and detection systems, national and international fire prevention standards, commercial risk engineering and safety practices, with

strong analytical, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, active listening, and MS Office

skills to assess risks, investigate incidents, and clearly communicate findings
