Job summary

Iquest Management Consultants in Hyderabad seeks a Process Safety Engineer to lead HSE design, risk analysis and safety management across oil & gas, refinery and chemical projects.

You will perform HAZOP/LOPA, QRA and PHA, ensure compliance with NFPA and API standards, manage safety audits, and drive timely delivery with strong leadership and communication. Hands-on Navisworks Freedom review for firefighting systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in process safety, safety management systems, HIRA, PSM, risk assessment, HAZOP, FMEA, and safety audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead process safety design and safety management across projects.
• Perform HAZOP/LOPA, QRA and PHA, risk analyses.

Role & responsibilities

Job description:

• Experience in process safety, safety management systems, HIRA, process safety management, risk assessment, QRA, hazard identification, HAZOP, fire safety, PHA, LOPA, FMEA, safety leadership, safety audits, safety officer activities, and communication skills.
• Experience in FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and PMC (Project Management Consultancy).
• Skilled in process design, quality assurance management, HAZOP system design, process safety, risk analysis, fire protection, and ANSI, petrochemical, and petroleum standards.
• Familiar with standards such as NFPA and API521 Part A & Part B.
• Knowledgeable in Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments, based on recognized methodologies and standards
• Perform loss prevention and related functions in oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, and chemical projects.
• Ensure that all documents are checked in accordance with company project and quality requirements.
• Ensure timely delivery of all project deliverables.
• Raise manhour variation requests for additions to the original scope of work.
• Support the Supervisor/HOD in proposal preparation and manhour estimation.
• Participate in HSE reviews and audits for the project.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
• Strong analytical, problemsolving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience in Design HSE/ Process safety/Technical safety/Loss prevention and related functions in oil and gas, refinery petrochemical and chemical projects.
• Hands-on experience in Navisworks Freedom for reviewing and providing comments on firefighting systems to relevant departments in a timely manner.
• Expertise in design areas including hazardous area classification, escape route planning, dispersion analysis, firewater P&IDs, active and passive fire protection, fire and gas detection, and quantitative risk analysis.
