Job summary

Invesco in Hyderabad seeks a risk analytics professional to monitor risk thresholds, develop quant models, and build tools for portfolio risk analytics. You will work with investment and product teams and coordinate with IT to enhance data quality and models.

The role requires 2–3 years in finance, programming in Python/R, and SQL, with a strong quantitative background and curiosity about markets and risk. Hybrid work arrangement offered in a global firm.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years’ financial industry experience is desirable.
• Asset management experience as an analyst is a plus.
• Experience in programming (Python, R), data analysis, quantitative model development, and SQL is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor risk thresholds and alerts for covered investment centers.
• Undertake quant projects on portfolio construction and risk analysis and produce actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Develop tools and analytics highlighting drivers of portfolio risk and exposures.
• Proactively monitor market risk, liquidity risk, and emerging risks and alert PMs as needed.
• Stay current with daily market developments and perform ad hoc exposure analyses.
• Collaborate with the technology group to improve risk data quality and analytics.
• Leverage performance attribution to provide insights beyond standard reporting.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

• Monitor risk Thresholds and Alerts for covered investment centers
• Undertake quant projects regarding portfolio construction, portfolio style or other relevant topics and generate clear, articulate and actionable analysis for relevant stakeholders
• Develop first-class tools and analytics that highlight drivers of portfolio risk, factor exposures, areas of portfolio concentration etc.
• Proactively monitor market risk, liquidity risk, and emerging risks , identify portfolios with significant exposures, alert PMs, and elevate risks to senior risk leaders as needed.
• Stay current with daily market developments and news impacting financial markets, performing ad hoc exposure analyses proactively or at the request of senior risk leaders.
• Engage the technology group in support of furthering the quality, structure and use of risk data throughout the organization and to facilitate the delivery of state-of-the-art risk analytics and risk models
• Leverage performance attribution innovatively within the risk process to provide insights into the investment process, beyond standard reporting.

Work Experience / Knowledge:

• 2 to 3 years’ financial industry experience is desirable, asset management experience as an analyst is a plus.
• Understanding of equity risk factor models, including but not limited to Barra, Axioma, Bloomberg, etc.
• Experience in programming (Python, R), data analysis, quantitative model development, and SQL is required. Ability to conduct research directed by senior members of the team and to balance multiple projects concurrently

• Quantitative background in the equity asset class preferred.

Formal Education:

• Bachelor’s/master’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering from Top Tier tech college

License / Registration / Certification:

• Completion or progress towards professional accreditations such as CFA, FRM, PRM, CAIA
