Job summary

Ripik.AI, Noida-based industrial AI SaaS startup, seeks an Engineering Manager with a strong backend track record to lead a cross-functional team of backend and frontend engineers. You will own the full product engineering lifecycle from greenfield architecture to production operations at scale for Ripik's industrial AI SaaS platform.

Qualifications

• B.Tech / M.Tech in CS, Software Eng, or related field.
• Extensive backend-focused software engineering experience with 2+ years in Tech Lead or Engineering Manager role.
• Hands-on Java (17+) and Spring ecosystem expertise (Spring Boot, Security, Data, Cloud, WebFlux).
• Experience building microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven systems (Kafka / RabbitMQ), and databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Scrum/Agile processes and strong DevOps/deployment experience (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD).
• Excellent communication and experience in high-growth start-up environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect backend platform and lead hands-on development for a scalable system.
• Drive API design standards and contract-first development.
• Oversee observability: logging, tracing, metrics across services.
• Lead end-to-end product delivery with frontend teams (React/Next.js).

The Role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager with a strong backend pedigree to lead a cross-functional team of backend and frontend engineers. You will own the full product engineering lifecycle from greenfield architecture and ground-up development through to production operations at scale for Ripiks industrial AI SaaS platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Architecture & Hands-on Development:
• Own the design and development of Ripiks backend platform built on Java 21+ and Spring Boot 4.x.
• Architect for scale, reliability, and low latency: design services that handle high-throughput streams from industrial IoT sensors and vision cameras.
• Make key technology and design decisions Spring Security, OAuth 2.0, Spring Data, and Hibernate / JPA.
• Drive API design standards (OpenAPI / Swagger) and enforce contract-first development.
• Champion production engineering: build observability into every service with structured logging, distributed tracing, and metrics.
• Full-Stack Product Delivery:
• Lead end-to-end product builds from the ground up translate product requirements into technical architecture and ship complete features.
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers building operator dashboards (React / Next.js, TypeScript).
• Own the CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions / GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes on AWS / Azure / GCP).
• Coordinate with the AI / Data Science teams to integrate ML model outputs into the platform.
• Manage cloud infrastructure decisions across multi-cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises installations.
• Team Leadership & Scrum Management:
• Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional team of backend and frontend engineers.
• Run Scrum ceremonies end to end sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and architecture reviews; enforce engineering best practices.
• Hire and onboard strong engineers; raise the technical bar continuously.
• Act as the primary engineering interface with Product, Design, AI, Field Engineering, and Customer Success.

Required Skills & Experience

• B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 810 years of total software engineering experience with a strong backend focus, of which at least 2 years in a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager role.
• Deep hands-on expertise in Java (17+) and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Security, Data, Cloud, WebFlux).
• Strong experience building microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven systems (Kafka / RabbitMQ), and database layers (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Hands-on experience running Scrum / Agile processes and strong DevOps/deployment experience (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD).
• Excellent communication skills and experience in high-growth start-up environments.
