Qualifications

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Rings Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Pune. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, modification, and validation of piston rings and related engine sealing components. The role requires expertise in CAD modeling, engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and product development within an automotive manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and modify 3D models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings using CAD software such as CATIA, Creo, or Siemens NX.
  • Create and interpret engineering drawings in accordance with customer requirements and international standards.
  • Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles as per ASME Y14.5 and ISO standards.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure manufacturability, fit, function, and product performance.
  • Support design reviews and provide technical solutions to design and manufacturing challenges.
  • Participate in the complete product development lifecycle from concept design through product release.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, testing, and global engineering teams to ensure timely project execution.
  • Access customer portals and manage engineering specifications, standards, and technical documentation.
  • Support engineering change requests (ECR/ECO) and PLM workflow activities.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3-8 years of experience in product design engineering, preferably in piston rings, engine components, powertrain, or automotive products.
  • Strong expertise in CATIA, Creo, or Siemens NX.
  • Experience in creating and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles and manufacturing tolerances.
  • Hands-on experience in tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Excellent technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills in English.
