Job description

The Retina Surgeon Ophthalmologist will provide retina disease management, diabetic eye care, macular disease treatment, laser therapy, intravitreal injections, and vitreo‑retina surgical services at ASG Eye Hospital, Mysuru.

Qualifications

MS, DNB, or DO Ophthalmology with vitreo‑retina / retina fellowship or clinical experience and 1–6 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients with retina-related vision loss, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, and macular disease.
• Review OCT, fundus images, angiography, ultrasound, and clinical findings.
• Plan retina laser, injections, medical care, surgery, and follow-up visits.
• Counsel patients about treatment plan, prognosis, procedure steps, and recovery.
• Coordinate with optometry, diagnostics, OT, nursing, counselling, and patient support teams.
• Maintain retina clinical records, procedure notes, prescriptions, and consent documentation.
• Monitor post-treatment outcomes and disease progression.
• Respond to urgent retinal conditions as per hospital protocol.
• Follow ophthalmology safety, infection control, and ethical care standards.
• Deliver safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered retina care.
