Job description

The Retina Surgeon Ophthalmologist will manage diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, macular disorders, retinal vascular disease, retina laser, intravitreal injections, and surgical retina cases at ASG Eye Hospital, Begusarai. This requires MS, DNB, or DO Ophthalmology with vitreo-retina / retina fellowship or clinical experience and 1–6 years of experience.

• Evaluate and treat diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, macular disease, and retina vascular disorders.
• Review OCT, fundus photography, angiography, ultrasound, and retina diagnostic reports.
• Plan laser treatment, intravitreal injections, medical therapy, surgery, and follow-up care.
• Manage emergency retina cases and post-operative retina follow-up.
• Counsel patients regarding diagnosis, treatment options, procedure need, risks, and recovery.
• Coordinate with optometry, diagnostics, OT, nursing, counselling, and patient care teams.
• Maintain retina records, procedure notes, consent forms, prescriptions, and patient documentation.
• Monitor treatment response, visual outcomes, and complications.
• Follow ophthalmology safety, infection control, ethical care, and patient privacy standards.
• Deliver safe, specialized, and evidence-based retina care.
