Job summary

Eye Mantra is seeking a Retina Surgeon to diagnose and treat retinal diseases, perform vitrectomies and laser treatments, and provide comprehensive patient care within a multidisciplinary team.

You will stay current with advances in retinal care and contribute to clinical research while mentoring junior staff and residents in retinal procedures.

Qualifications

• MBBS and MS (Ophthalmology) are required.
• DNB or Fellowship in Retina Surgery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye exams and retinal evaluations.
• Diagnose retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, AMD, detachment.
• Prescribe medical treatment and determine surgical needs.
• Perform retina-related surgeries including vitrectomies and laser treatments.
• Provide pre- and post-operative patient care and maintain records.
• Counsel patients and families on conditions, options, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with general ophthalmologists and other specialists.
• Mentor junior staff and residents in retinal care.
• Stay updated on retinal surgery advancements and contribute to research.

Job description

As a Retina Surgeon, you’ll diagnose and treat retinal diseases like retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, AMD, and macular holes. You’ll perform surgeries like vitrectomies and laser treatments, provide post-operative care, and stay current with advancements in retinal care, all while working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical Duties:
  • Conduct comprehensive eye exams and retinal evaluations.
  • Diagnose retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration , retinal detachment, and other vitreoretinal disorders.
  • Prescribe medical treatment and recommend appropriate surgical interventions.
• Surgical Duties:
  • Perform retina-related surgeries, including vitrectomies, retinal reattachments, and laser treatments.
  • Use advanced surgical equipment and techniques to treat complex retinal conditions.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing retinal surgeries.
• Maintain patient records, including diagnostic results and treatment plans.
• Counsel patients and their families on the nature of their conditions, treatment options, and expected outcomes.
• Work closely with the medical team, including general ophthalmologists and other specialists.
• Work with other medical professionals to create personalized treatment plans for complex retinal diseases.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior staff and medical residents in retinal care.
• Research & Development:
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in retinal surgery and treatments.
  • Contribute to clinical research and publications in the field of ophthalmology.

Required Qualifications:

• M.B.B.S, M.S. (Ophthalmology), and DNB or Fellowship in Retina Surgery (preferred).
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in retinal surgeries.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude toward patient care.
