Research Summary of the Faculty

Shekhar Tomar is an Assistant Professor in the Economics and Public Policy area at ISB. His research lies at the intersection of macroeconomics, trade and finance and he extensively uses micro-data to answer macro questions in his work. During his stint at the RBI, he also contributed regularly to the policy work on monetary policy and trade issues in India.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong academic background in any of Economics/Computer Science/Statistics/Mathematics/Engineering with demonstrated analytical and communication skills.
• Good analytical, computing and communication skills. Working knowledge of statistical software and/or programming languages like R, Stata, Python, Matlab etc. is essential.
• The candidate must have high standards in terms of quality of work, attention to detail, ability to multi‑task and absolute commitment to task completion.
• Ability to incorporate intellectual inputs from multiple disciplines and to work independently
• Strong professional ethic including attention to detail, commitment to task completion under aggressive deadlines, and ability to multitask
