Indian School of Business in Hyderabad seeks a research-focused professional to assist faculty with NLP/ML research. You will review literature, work with large datasets, and help implement NLP workflows, with a strong emphasis on Python/R/SQL skills.

Formación

• Masters or higher in data mining or machine learning; or equivalently, bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Statistics/ Mathematics with at least 2 years’ experience with ML, NLP, Document Classification, Topic Modelling, and Information Extraction with a proven track record.
• Experience with big data systems, concepts, and tools.
• Strong team player with cross-functional skills.
• Experience with noisy and/or unstructured textual data.
• Strong coding proficiency in Python, R and SQL.
• Knowledge of text mining algorithms and pre-processing techniques; able to design NLP/LLM workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exposure to econometric techniques desirable.
• Motivation to learn and strong work ethic.

Professor of Information Systems at the Indian School of Business (ISB faculty). Prof.Deepa’s research interests are at the intersection of technology, organization, and society. She has demonstrated significant thought leadership on the business and policy implications of technological innovations and investments. Her research articles have been published in leading academic journals such as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Strategic Management Journal, among others. Prof.Deepa also extensively coaches organizations, keynotes corporate leadership events, and conducts executive education in the areas of digital business models, digital transformation and technology product management.

You should consider yourself a good fit for this position if you are an experienced, highly motivated professional with a very good under-graduate or graduate academic record, and significant experience in analytics of large datasets using leading edge methods. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate broad knowledge of core NLP tasks, like tagging, syntactic and semantic parsing, named entity recognition, user intent understanding algorithms etc. Implementation experience and programming skills will also be given weight. The position presupposes a graduate degree or equivalent in Natural Language Processing or in Computer Science with a clearly NLP-based thesis.

• Strong coding proficiency in Python, R and SQL
• Knowledge of various text mining algorithms and their use-cases as well as text pre-processing and normalization techniques. The candidate should be able to design, implement, and evaluate NLP and LLM-based workflows.
