Job summary

Adecco India is hiring a Research Associate for Laboratory Operations in Kolkata. The role focuses on processing clinical samples and carrying out diagnostic work, including MRD-related sequencing, with emphasis on accuracy and timely turnaround.

Mandatory MSc in Biological Sciences with molecular biology/genomics expertise and at least 1 year hands-on lab experience (DNA extraction, QC, qPCR, sequencing). Proficiency in MS Office and LIMS preferred.

Qualifications

• Masters in Biological Sciences with expertise in Molecular Biology and Genomics.
• At least 1 year hands-on experience in basic lab protocols (DNA extraction, QC checks, qPCR, sequencing).
• Proficiency in MS Office and data management in laboratory/clinical contexts.
• Ability to work with IT‑supported systems and follow SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process clinical samples in the laboratory.
• Perform quality control checks on samples.
• Carry out DNA extraction, library preparation, and sample prep for sequencing.
• Record all activities in LIMS and follow SOPs.
• Support sequencing workflows and manufacturing of reagents.
• Adapt to new laboratory processes and workflows as required.

Urgent hiring for Research Associate - Laboratory Operations

CTC: 4.5-5.5 LPA

Job Summary:

The Research Associate is responsible for processing clinical samples and performing laboratory activities required for diagnostic testing, including molecular minimal residual disease (MRD) testing for ALL patients. The role focuses on delivering accurate, high-quality results within the required turnaround time (TAT).

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and process clinical samples in the laboratory.
• Perform quality control checks on samples.
• Carry out laboratory procedures such as:
• DNA extraction
• Library preparation
• Sample preparation for sequencing
• Ensure all laboratory activities are accurately recorded in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Follow standard operating procedures to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Support sequencing workflows and related laboratory operations.
• Assist in the preparation and manufacturing of laboratory reagents.
• Adapt to new laboratory processes and workflows as required.

Preferred candidate profile:

Mandatory:

• Masters degree in Biological Sciences with expertise in Molecular Biology and Genomics.
• Minimum 1 year of hands‑on experience in basic laboratory protocols and techniques such as DNA extraction, quality checks, qPCR, and sequencing (Sanger and/or next‑generation sequencing).
• Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and laboratory and clinical data management.
• Ability to work with IT‑supported systems.

Preferred:

• Experience handling patient samples.
• Experience with library preparation on the ONT platform is preferred but not mandatory.
