Lifecell in Chennai, India seeks a Molecular Genetics department professional to oversee laboratory activities and ensure high-quality reporting. You will manage rosters, contribute to method development, and support continual improvement initiatives.
The role requires strong knowledge of Whole Exome Sequencing, variant filtering concepts, and privacy standards handling clinical data. Training and governance ensure safe, compliant operations in a fast-paced lab.
1. To be responsible for all the activities conducted in the department.
2. Responsible for all the reports generated by the laboratory.
3. To manage duty roasters and ensure staff attend duties as per the schedule.
4. To work on the development of new and existing techniques.
5. To take part in quality improvement, continual improvement in the Molecular Genetics department.
6. To perform testing, verification of all critical / alert values before releasing.
7. Suggesting corrective and preventive action, implementation of the corrective and preventive action.
8. To train the subordinates on policies and procedures.
9. To ensure and monitor the employees to follow the established occupational safety and health procedures.
10. To maintain the patient confidentiality.
11. To test the highly infectious disease samples as per the procedure defined.
12. To follow the testing policies and procedures laid down based on public health reporting procedures of suspect and confirmed cases.
13. To follow the preventive and precautionary measures to minimize the occupational safety health risks.
14. To check availability of IPC and PPE and ensure to follow the procedures of wearing and disposal of the used materials.
15. To inform the reporting authority if experiencing signs of undue stress or mental health challenges that require support interventions; and report to their immediate supervisor any situation in which they have reasonable justification.
16. To report on adverse reports/investigation to the Manager/Senior Manager.
17. In absence of Team Leader, the Senior Executive/Executive will be responsible and perform the activities and vice versa.
