Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Conduct advanced molecular testing procedures including complex NGS workflows, Sanger sequencing, Real-time PCR (RT-PCR), ensuring precision and adherence to protocols.
• Manage lab operations, troubleshoot equipment issues, perform quality control assessments, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards in molecular diagnostics.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure quality standards of practices in the laboratory.
• Ensure sample analysis is completed within stipulated time to assure TAT.
• Ensure documentation for traceability as per SOP standards.
• Assist in preparing documentation for accrediting agencies like CAP, NABL, etc.
• Specimen labeling, handling, preservation, processing, transportation, and storage of specimens, as applicable.
• Implementation of all laboratory procedures.
• Performance of each test method and for proper instrument use.
• Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration procedures for each test performed.
• Assist in participation and coordinate documentation for proficiency testing.
• Working knowledge of reagent stability and storage.
• Implementation of quality control policies and procedures.
• An awareness of interferences and other factors that influence test results.
• Assessment and verification of the validity of test results, including the performance of quality control prior to reporting results.
• Ensure compliance to laboratory safety, biohazard handling and infection control standards.
• Participate in generating scientific publications, and scientific conferences.

Preferred candidate profile

M.Sc. (Life Sciences/ Biotechnology) - at least 2 years in relevant field
