Job summary

Proto9 Materials invites a Field Trial Engineer to plan, coordinate and execute field trial tests for Ferro Alloys. You will work with customers, vendors and internal teams to set up trials and collect real-time data.

You will analyze results, prepare reports, provide feedback for product improvement, and troubleshoot issues during field trials. Travel to customer sites will be required; strong communication and independent field work are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years in metallurgy, ferro alloys, metal processing, or field testing.
• Experience with field trials and data collection.
• Willingness to travel to client sites.

Job description

• Plan, coordinate, and execute field trial tests for metallurgical products (Ferro Alloys).
• Work closely with customers, vendors, and internal teams to set up trials and collect real-time data.
• Analyze test results, prepare reports, and provide feedback for product improvement.
• Troubleshoot issues arising during field trials and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure proper documentation of test procedures, results, and observations.
• Stay updated on industry standards and ensure compliance with testing protocols.
• Train and assist customers or production teams in product application and performance evaluation.

Education & Exp:

• 2 5 Year Experience
• Education: Diploma/Bachelor's in Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 2+ years in metallurgy, ferro alloys, metal processing, or field testing.

Preferable skills:

• Knowledge of ferro alloys, metal powders, Melting & Casting, or heat treatment processes.
• Experience with testing equipment such as furnaces, hardness testers, microscopes, or XRD.
• Familiarity with metallurgy-related software (e.g., Xpert HighScore, ImageJ, Plot Digitizer).

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently in field environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Melting & Casting of Ferro Alloys, powder metallurgy, additive manufacturing, or casting processes.
• Understanding of failure analysis and material characterization techniques.
• Willingness to travel for field trials and customer site visits.
