Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or DME.
• Post-diploma or Graduation in Die and tool design preferred.
• Proficient in Creo software.
• 8+ years in new product development and tool design.
• Experience with sheet metal, molded parts, machining, fabrication.
• Knowledge of copper and zinc coatings and surface finishes.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Well-organized with strong time-management and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Generate ideas, develop concepts, and select viable designs.
• Study materials and select appropriate ones; perform product costing.
• Apply DFM/DFX techniques in product design and conduct design reviews.
• Use value engineering/analysis for new and existing products.
• Study requirements, perform product/parts design, and run design reviews.
• Prepare design review checklists and review tooling quotations.
• Verify and validate new products per applicable standards.
• Conduct PPAP, maintain records, and participate in supplier audits.
• Arrange product testing and maintain test records.
• Prepare installation instructions and the product data sheet.
• Provide training on new products to sales/marketing teams.
• Maintain design records and manage revision control; perform root cause analysis.

Position - Senior Engineer - R&D

Location - Cheyyar

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Idea generation, concept development, and selection
• Material study and material selection
• Product costing
• Implementing DFM, DFA, and DFS techniques in Product design
• Applying Value engineering and Value analysis techniques for new and existing products
• Study the product requirement and do the Product/parts design and conduct design review
• Preparing the design review checklist
• Review of tooling quotation and cost negotiation with tool maker
• Verification and validation of new products as per the relevant standard
• Conducting PPAP and maintaining the records
• Participating in supplier audits
• Product test arrangements and maintaining the test records.
• Prepare the installation instruction manual.
• Prepare the product's technical data sheet.
• Conducting training programs about new products for the sales and marketing teams
• Maintain design records and control revision changes.
• Conducting root cause analysis and updating or improving the design

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or DME
• Post-diploma or Graduation in Die and tool design is preferred.
• Very good at using Creo software.
• 8+ years of experience in new product development and tool design
• Good design knowledge in Sheet metal parts, moulded parts, machining, and fabrication
• Knowledge of copper and zinc coatings and surface finish coatings
• Problem-solving skills
