Job Description

We are looking for an Assistant Manager – Product Engineering to join our Product Engineering (R&D) team. The role involves product design and development, concept engineering, design verification and validation, prototyping, RFQ feasibility, design improvements and coordination with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams.

The candidate will work on multiple product development projects and contribute to developing reliable, manufacturable and cost-effective engineering solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead, participate in and support new product development and product enhancement activities.
• Handle concept development, planning, design and execution of new products.
• Develop 2D drawings, 3D CAD models and detailed engineering designs.
• Conduct product and design risk assessments.
• Develop prototypes and support testing of concept designs and initial engineering builds.
• Participate in design reviews, design verification testing and product validation testing.
• Support pilot production and pre-production activities.
• Respond to RFQs received from the Sales/Business Development team.
• Conduct initial technical and product feasibility studies.
• Conceptualize new designs and engineering design revisions.
• Prepare detailed cost/design blueprints.
• Support Production to improve manufacturability and lead times.
• Identify product reliability improvements to reduce or eliminate field/warranty issues.
• Coordinate with component and parts suppliers and support Purchasing wherever required.
• Drive product innovation and develop new/improved engineering solutions for customers.
• Identify and implement improvements related to product functionality, cost and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
• Interface with internal teams and external customers for technical updates, design recommendations and engineering analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement within Product Engineering.
• Create and maintain relevant engineering/process documentation and SOPs.

Candidate Profile

• B.E. / M.E. in Mechanical, Automobile or Production Engineering
• 3–5 years of relevant Product Design / Product Development experience
• Experience in pneumatic and hydraulic products preferred
• Proficiency in Creo 5.0.2.0
• Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
• Understanding of FEA tools such as ANSYS / Pro-Mechanica
• Understanding of plastic parts, sheet metal parts, rubber components and castings
• Exposure to ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 processes and standards

About the Role –

Hiring Assistant Manager – Product Engineering (R&D) with 3–5 years of experience in product design and development. Candidate should have hands‑on experience in Creo, 2D/3D CAD, concept development, prototyping, design verification/validation, RFQ feasibility and DFM. Experience with pneumatic/hydraulic products and knowledge of IATF 16949 will be preferred. Location: Pune.
