Job summary

Deutsche Bank in Bangalore, India, is seeking an Associate for Regulatory Reporting. The role supports EMIR/SFTR and NoA compliance across asset classes—Rates, Credit, Commodities, Equities, and FX—and focuses on data accuracy, MIS, and UAT.

You will collaborate with technology teams, drive automation of exception handling, and guide control improvements while maintaining timely, complete reporting and robust STP across all domains.

Qualifications

  • Experience with EMIR/SFTR and NoA regulatory reporting preferred.
  • Experience in Middle Office/Back Office and Reference Data across multiple asset classes.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to perform root cause analysis and remediation.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as SME for regulatory reporting processes and data flows; support continuous process improvement.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and adapt reporting frameworks to stay compliant.
  • Review and manage exception handling across asset classes and jurisdictions.
  • Own remediation efforts for audit findings and regulatory queries; coordinate with teams for timely resolution.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and complete regulatory reporting; address control gaps.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to automate exception processes and remediate gaps.
  • Propose architectural enhancements to improve regulatory compliance and STP across asset classes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of exceptions and escalate significant issues to senior management.
  • Build and maintain robust operational processes; prioritize activities by risk.
  • Communicate effectively and escalate high-risk situations when needed.
  • Document BI deliverables comprehensively.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate AI into processes to streamline workflows.
  • Provide training and knowledge sharing to promote best practices.

Role Description
  • This role is crucial for ensuring our business adheres to significant regulatory requirements, particularly around EMIR/ SFTR or NoA. As part of the Bangalore team, you'll be responsible for supporting regulatory reporting across all asset classes, including Rates, Credit, Commodities, Equities, and Foreign Exchange.
  • Your key duties will involve managing exceptions and ensuring data accuracy on a daily basis, compiling Management Information Systems (MIS), and conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • You will also be instrumental in identifying control gaps and collaborating with our technology teams to resolve them. Additionally, this position will involve supporting internal technology needs by leveragingAI-enabled solutions to simplify repetitive tasks and enhance reporting capabilities.

Your key responsibilities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for specific regulatory reporting processes and data flows, providing guidance and support to team members and contributing to continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Proactively monitor regulatory updates and industry best practices, assessing their potential impact on existing processes and contributing to the adaptation of reporting frameworks to maintain compliance.
  • Review and/or manage various exception management functions across reporting for all asset classes and multiple jurisdictions.
  • Individually own and drive the build and remediation efforts for audit findings and regulatory queries, collaborating closely with relevant teams to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and complete regulatory reporting; proactively address any control gaps within the reporting process.
  • Collaborate closely with technology development teams to design and implement system solutions, with a strong focus on automating exception processes and remediating control gaps.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to propose architectural enhancements that ensure greater compliance with regulatory requirements and drive improved Straight Through Processing (STP) of reporting across all asset classes.
  • Conduct thorough root cause analysis of exceptions, investigating and appropriately escalating any significant issues identified through testing, rejection remediation, or other processes to senior management, thereby ensuring transparency in our control environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain effective operational processes, prioritizing activities based on assessed risk.
  • Exhibit clear communication and effective escalation skills, with the ability to promptly recognize and address high-risk situations.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of all Business Intelligence (BI) deliverables.
  • Actively identify opportunities for AI integration within existing processes to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance data quality.
  • Facilitate training, knowledge sharing, and best practices to foster wider adoption and ensure optimal usage across the team/department.
Your skills and experience
  • 5–7 years’ work experience within an Ops role in financial services.
  • Graduate in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
  • Regulatory experience, including EMIR & SFTR and NoA is preferred.
  • Preferable experience in Middle Office/Back Office, Reference Data and excellent in Trade Life Cycle (At least 2 asset Classes – Equities, Credits, Rates, Foreign Exchange, Commodities).
  • Strong analytical skillswith a demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis, identify control weaknesses, and propose effective remediation strategies
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Clear and concise communication and escalation. Ability to recognise high risk situations and deal with them in a prompt manner.
  • Ability to identify and prioritize multiple tasks that have potential operational risk and p/l impact in an often-high-pressure environment.
  • Conceptual understanding or practical experience with AI/automation toolsand their application in process optimization (e.g., scripting, basic automation platforms).
