Refex Industries is seeking an experienced Regional Manager ASH Logistics to oversee end-to-end ash transportation across multiple ash-handling sites in Tamil Nadu, managing Fly Ash, Pond Ash and bulk materials with open-body tippers and a wide transporter network.

The role requires strong local relationships with transport unions, driver management, MIS reporting and cost control to ensure on-time deliveries and compliant operations across locations.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end ash transportation operations across multiple sites.
• Plan and monitor movement of Fly Ash, Pond Ash and bulk materials.
• Manage large fleets of open-body tippers and optimize deployment.
• Identify, onboard and manage local transporters based on needs.
• Develop a database of local transporters, fleet owners and unions.
• Negotiate transportation rates and commercial terms with transporters.
• Oversee driver availability, deployment, retention and performance.
• Ensure vehicle and driver availability to meet daily trips.
• Monitor trip planning, vehicle positioning and turnaround times.
• Track vehicle utilization and opportunities to improve efficiency.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Regional Manager ASH Logistics to manage end-to-end logistics and transportation operations across multiple ash-handling sites. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Fly Ash / Pond Ash / Loose Goods / Bulk Material transportation, particularly in managing open-body tippers and large transporter networks.

The candidate must have strong local market knowledge, established relationships with transporters, unions and drivers, and proven experience in transporter identification, onboarding and fleet deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end ash transportation operations across multiple sites in the assigned region.
• Plan and monitor the movement of Fly Ash, Pond Ash and other bulk/loose materials.
• Manage large fleets of open-body tippers and ensure optimum vehicle deployment.
• Identify, evaluate and onboard reliable local transporters based on operational requirements.
• Develop and maintain a strong database of local transporters, fleet owners and transport associations/unions.
• Negotiate transportation rates and commercial terms with transporters.
• Manage driver availability, deployment, retention and performance.
• Ensure adequate vehicle and driver availability to meet daily trip requirements.
• Monitor trip planning, vehicle positioning, turnaround time and daily trip performance.
• Track vehicle utilization and identify opportunities to improve trips per vehicle and fleet productivity.
• Coordinate with site teams, customers, transporters and drivers to resolve operational issues.
• Handle transporter and driver-related issues, including breakdowns, absenteeism, route issues and local operational challenges.
• Monitor transportation costs and ensure operations are within approved budgets.
• Ensure timely execution of transportation commitments and customer requirements.
• Maintain daily/weekly MIS reports covering vehicles, trips, tonnage, utilization, transporter performance and operational costs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders to ensure smooth transportation operations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements and statutory transportation documentation.

Strong experience in Fly Ash / Pond Ash / Loose Goods / Bulk

Material Logistics

• Hands-on experience in managing open-body tipper operations
• Strong database of local transporters and fleet owners
• Good relationships with transport unions / local transport associations
• Proven experience in identifying, negotiating with and onboarding transporters
• Strong experience in driver management and retention
• Experience managing multiple sites / locations simultaneously
• Strong knowledge of trip planning, vehicle deployment and fleet utilization
• Good understanding of transportation costing and route-wise logistics
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
• Ability to handle pressure and resolve field-level operational challenges
• Willingness to travel extensively across assigned locations

Preferred Profile

Candidates from Ash Logistics, Fly Ash/Pond Ash Transportation, Bulk Material Logistics, Mining Logistics, Construction Material Logistics or similar loose-goods transportation businesses will be preferred.

Candidates without relevant bulk/loose material logistics or tipper fleet management experience may not be considered.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should be a hands-on logistics professional with strong local transporter networks, excellent knowledge of open-body tipper operations, proven driver and trip management capabilities, and the ability to independently manage logistics across multiple ash-handling sites.
