Job summary

CMA CGM India in Mumbai is seeking an experienced Recruitment and Training Specialist to lead seafarer recruitment and training programs in line with client matrices. You will coordinate training centers with regulatory bodies and conduct interviews for Engine/Deck seafarers to ensure qualified personnel are available.

This role requires a degree in business or maritime studies, COP, strong English, and a minimum of three years supervisory shipping industry experience.

Qualifications

Ideally COP holder and a bachelor's degree in business or maritime fields.
Proficiency in STCW requirements and flag state rules.
Strong MS Office skills and excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

To strictly follow all Company procedures, guidelines and mandatory regulations.
To manage training of seafarers per Client Training Matrix.
To coordinate training centres with MHRD / CSS.
To conduct interviews for Engine / Deck seafarers recruitment.
To validate trainers and improve their skills where appropriate.
To ensure training syllabi are reviewed and updated.
To analyse CES results and plan actions to close gaps.
To implement Cadet programs per CMA Ships Singapore requirements.
To act as local cadet training co-ordinator for CMA Ships Singapore.
To assist CMA Ships Singapore with annual training budget preparation.
To establish processes ensuring Senior Officers are approved on time.
To check and approve third-party training invoices.
To monitor KPIs and data trends, preparing weekly/monthly/quarterly reports.
To work with Crewing Operations to maintain qualified crew in the pool.
To assist management with ad hoc data analysis / reports / presentations.
To perform ad hoc tasks as requested by Talent Development Manager.

Functional (cooperation, horizontal): internally with all teams and departments heads; externally with MHRD and CMA Ships as well as third parties as required

I. JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

To strictly follow all Company procedures, guidelines and mandatory regulations
To manage the training of the companys seafarers in accordance with Client Training Matrix.
To manage training centres in coordination with MHRD / CSS.
To conduct interviews for recruitment of Engine / Deck Seafarers.
To validate the trainers and improve their skills where appropriate.
To ensure that all training syllabus are reviewed and updated.
To analyse CES results and subsequent action plans to close gaps.
To implement Ship Managers Cadet program according to CMA Ships Singapores requirements.
To act as a local cadet training co-ordinator according for CMA Ships Singapore.
To assist CMA Ships Singapore with preparation of the annual training budget and its application.
To establish and follow a process which ensures Senior Officers are assessed and (if necessary) approved by the Client in time.
To check and approve all third-party training related invoices.
To monitor the KPIs, trends, data analysis and prepare respective weekly, monthly or quarterly reports which would reflect the status.
To work closely with Crewing Operations in order to ensure a sufficient supply of qualified crew in the pool.

To assist the Company's management by providing ad hoc data analysis / reports / presentations.
To perform ad hoc tasks as requested by the Talent Development Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

Ideally Certificate of Competency holder.
Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or maritime related discipline
Sufficient knowledge of mandatory STCW certification and Flag States' requirements
Proficiency in MS Office applications
Proper command of English, both written and spoken
