Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Chennai seeks an EHS Engineer/Sr. Engineer to monitor daily safety on the project site and ensure compliance with company safety policies and statutory regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical) required.
• Diploma / Certification in Industrial Safety / Construction Safety from a recognized institute preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) in construction projects, preferably high-rise residential or commercial building projects.

Responsibilities

• Site Safety Monitoring: Monitor daily construction activities for safety compliance.
• Ensure safe execution of structural works, formwork, reinforcement, finishing, and MEP installations.
• Conduct routine site safety inspections and hazard identification.
• Identify unsafe conditions and potential risks; implement JSA and risk assessments.
• Recommend corrective actions to prevent accidents and unsafe practices.
• Ensure contractors and workers follow safety rules and PPE requirements.
• Monitor compliance with statutory safety regulations and company guidelines.
• Assist in safe use of equipment, machinery, scaffolding, and lifting operations.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety training for workers and site staff.
• Prepare daily and weekly safety reports and maintain documentation.
