MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, a business segment of Element Solutions Inc, is seeking an experienced R&D Application Chemist to provide high-quality technical support and develop analytical methods for electrodeposition in the semiconductor industry. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and travel within India.

Who are we looking for?

• We’re looking for a practical, creative, and extremely talented hands-on Chemist, Material Scientist or a Chemical Engineer to join our customer support applications & development team.


• The R&D Application Chemist will provide high-quality technical support & solutions to CS & WLP customers in India, strive to deliver analytical solutions, conduct method development and validation that support customer applications, troubleshooting and product development.

What will you be doing?

• Characterizing and optimizing existing and newly developed products for electrodeposition of metals for the semiconductor industry


• Design and execute physical and chemical analytical methods to support customer applications such as analysis of customer plating bath chemistries using wet chemical methods, titrations, and CVS, followed by interpretation of results and technical reporting.


• Able to observe, analyze, calculate and interpret results, prepare professional reports and recommend further action based on results.


• Develop and validate new analytical methods in alignment with customer and business needs.


• Conduct failure mode analysis, identify defects and material-related issues, and recommend improvement solutions.


• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Technical Service Engineers, and Product Teams to support key customer projects.


• Ensure laboratory safety, cleanliness, and adherence to EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) policies.


• Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and customer reports.


• Monitor lab KPIs and continuously improve lab efficiency and service quality.


• Maintain 5S standards in the laboratory to ensure safe and efficient operations.


• Travel within India as required to support customers through meetings and production line process optimization

Who are You?

• Master’s degree in chemistry, Engineering or a related field.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical application support and/or development within surface plating industries.


• Strong understanding of electrochemistry and surface chemistry


• Experience with plating bath formulation, control, and troubleshooting


• Familiarity with analytical and characterization techniques relevant to metal coatings
