Job summary

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions in Karnataka, India, invites application for a Scale-up Lab Technician role. The incumbent will drive production of scale-up lab batches, prepare samples, maintain materials inventory, and document processes and results with rigor.

You will work with the Scale-up team to troubleshoot, ensure traceability, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced lab environment. The role requires a BS in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry (MS entry level acceptable) with

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry; MS entry level.
• More than 3 years of relevant experience proposed or MS entry level.
• Exposure to Continuous Improvement Methodology (Six Sigma Green Belt level) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Produce scale-up batches for new products.
• Fill and label containers for customer samples.
• Communicate process results verbally and in writing.
• Prepare samples and shipping documents.
• Document product and manufacturing process details.
• Maintain inventory stocks and traceability of materials.
• Keep and organize CofAs and SDS for products on hand.
• Perform batch testing to understand characteristics and effects.
• Schedule aging studies and report data generated.
• Assist with storing/disposal of raw materials per procedures.
• Support continuous improvement projects.
• Collaborate with Scale-up team to troubleshoot as required.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping practices.

Who are we looking for?

The strategic focus of this position is to work on the Scale up activities involved to promote quick scale-ups and continuous improvement, from raw material control to shipping samples if required, going through batch making, observation reports, and improvements implementation. The primary purpose of this position is to execute the production of scale up lab batches. In addition, this position will be responsible for preparing samples, shipment, keeping inventory stocks and records to have traceability of all the materials used and shipped.

What will you be doing?

• Produce batches to scale-up new products
• Fills and labels containers for customer samples
• Responsible for communicating process results – verbally and in writing
• Prepare samples and documents required for shipping
• Responsible for documenting details related to the product and manufacturing process
• Responsible for keeping inventory stocks and records
• Responsible for keeping and organizing documents such as CofAs and SDS to the products in hand
• Perform testing for the batches that allow to understand characteristics and cause-effects of the product and process.
• Schedule aging studies and report the data generated
• Assist with and oversee the storing and disposing of raw materials, paste flux, solder paste samples, according to internal procedures
• Work on continuous improvement projects
• Work closely with the Scale up team to work on troubleshooting as required
• Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices.
• Other duties as assigned

Who are You?

• BS in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry & >3 years of relevant experience or MS Entry Level
• Effective level of exposure and training in Continuous Improvement Methodology, similar to the Green Belt as provided in Six Sigma

What competencies will you need?

• To successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job the incumbent must possess a minimum of two years experience in similar position, and an understanding of working with chemicals
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and computer literacy
• Requires practical understanding and a working knowledge of a laboratory environment
• Requires the ability to record and maintain data in computerized and non-computerized formats
• Possesses well-developed communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
• Ability to work in a high-paced and multi-task environment
• High ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality
