Job summary

Rishi And Associates Coimbatore is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to perform quantity take-offs, rate analysis, tender work and BOQ preparation for civil, finishing, MEP and external works in Coimbatore. You will build itemized tender workings in Excel and ensure pricing aligns with drawings and specifications.

The ideal candidate holds a B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering, has 3–8 years of QS experience, is highly skilled in Excel, and can read architectural/structural drawings.

Role & responsibilities

• Quantity Take-offs: Carry out detailed and accurate quantity take-offs from architectural, structural and services drawings for all tender submissions civil, finishing, MEP coordination and external works.
• Rate Analysis: Prepare complete rate analysis for all items labour, material, equipment and overheads grounded in current Coimbatore market rates.
• Tender Workings: Build and maintain item-wise tender workings in MS Excel; structure and present them clearly for management review and submission.
• BOQ Preparation: Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and detailed cost estimates aligned with tender specifications and drawings.
• Tender Document Study: Study tender documents, scope of work, special conditions and specifications thoroughly before pricing flag ambiguities or scope gaps to management.
• Tender Submission: Compile and submit complete tender packages within deadlines — drawings, BOQ, covering letter, rate schedules and supporting documents.
• Tender Register: Maintain a tender register tracking all bids submitted, outcomes and post-tender feedback for future reference.
• Market Benchmarking: Analyse competitor rates and post-tender comparisons to sharpen future pricing accuracy.
• Billing: Prepare and verify subcontractor bills and client billing statements for assigned projects.
• RA Bills: Verify RA bills against certified work progress and contract terms.
• Reconciliation: Perform material reconciliation — track issued quantities against actual consumption.
• Site Visits: Carry out occasional site visits to verify quantities and progress for billing purposes.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
• 3 to 8 years of QS experience with demonstrated strength in tendering, quantity take-offs and rate analysis — this is non-negotiable
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel — must be able to build and manage detailed tender workings independently
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings for take-off purposes
• Experience pricing residential, commercial, institutional or industrial building projects
• Knowledge of current construction material and labour rates in the Coimbatore / Tamil Nadu market
• High accuracy and attention to detail in quantity calculations — errors in tendering are costly
• Ability to work under deadline pressure and manage multiple tender submissions simultaneously
• Candidates currently based in Coimbatore or willing to relocate strongly preferred
• Good communication in Tamil and basic written English for correspondence and report
