Job summary

Siemens Mobility in India is seeking an experienced QA professional to lead and coordinate quality assurance across incoming, in-process, and final assembly. You will drive First-Time-Right manufacturing, act as the quality interface across Production, Engineering, SCM, SQM, and Project teams, and own line quality KPIs.

The role emphasizes customer quality management, supplier quality initiatives, NCR closure, and ongoing shop-floor quality culture through training and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of QA experience with minimum 4 years in SQM.
• Formal training in SQM standards (VDA 6.3, ISO 9001:2015).
• Experience with ISO-9001:2015 quality management systems.
• Strong record-keeping and data management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure effectiveness of quality assurance across incoming, in-process, and final stages to ensure product quality.
• Drive First-Time-Right manufacturing through defect prevention and robust planning.

• Own and monitor line quality KPIs and drive sustained improvements.
• Lead customer quality management including handling complaints and audits.
• Support supplier quality initiatives including supplier audits and corrective actions.
• Review NCRs and ensure timely closure with cross-functional teams.
• Promote a strong quality culture on the shop floor via training and engagement.
• Carry out supplier validation audits with APQP involvement.
• Review supplier quality data to identify process improvements in the supply chain.
• Create corrective action plans addressing process failures when needed.
• Assess suppliers per VDA6.3 / ISO9001:2015 guidelines.

Job description

• Preparation and approval of Quality Procedures based on process requirements/ changes.
• Lead and ensure effectiveness of quality assurance processes across incoming, in-process, and final stages to achieve consistent product quality.
• Drive First-Time-Right manufacturing through defect prevention, robust quality planning, and structured problem-solving.
• Act as the quality interface across Production, Engineering, SCM, SQM, and Project teams, ensuring timely resolution of quality issues.
• Own and monitor line quality KPIs, perform data-driven analysis, and drive sustained improvement actions.
• Lead customer quality management, including handling customer complaints, audits, and critical warranty issue resolution.
• Support supplier quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with SQM, including participation in supplier audits, performance reviews, and verification of corrective actions.
• Review and ensure timely closure of NCRs (internal and external) through structured follow-up with cross-functional teams.
• Promote a strong quality culture on the shop floor through training, awareness, and continuous engagement.
• Carry out supplier validation audits with supplier support and supplier advanced product quality planning (APQP).
• Review and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
• Where appropriate, work with the supplier directly, create corrective action plans to address process failures.
• Assessment of supplier as per VDA6.3 / ISO9001:2015 guidelines.
• Review documentation of inspection results across all areas. In appropriate functional areas, this refers to supporting inspection and test status requirements defined by regulations, engineering product specifications or Control Plans, PPAP approval or product warrant submission.
• Manage Quality Objectives / Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (Internal & Supplier as well).

Requirements (Special Knowledge, Education, Ability and Skills)

• 7-10 years of experience of working in QA (Min 4 years working with SQM Department).
• Formal training in SQM, such as VDA 6.3, ISO9001:2015, Overall supplier management.
• Knowledge and detailed experience with quality management systems (ISO-9001:2015) is highly desirable.
• Strong competency in record keeping / organization, database maintenance, spreadsheets.
• Ability to maintain excellence and accuracy in a dynamic, fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
• Must work well in a team environment and must demonstrate excellent communication skills in the interaction with customers.
