Job summary

Job Title: QC Inspector – Wire Harness / Cable Harness

Job Summary

We are looking for a QC Inspector with hands‑on experience in wire and cable harness manufacturing to join our quality team.

The candidate will be responsible for in‑process and final inspection of wire harness assemblies, ensuring that products meet engineering drawings, customer specifications and applicable workmanship standards.

The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 (WHMA 620) and experience in inspecting crimping, soldering, connector assembly, wiring, shielding and cable harness workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspection of wire and cable harness assemblies.
• Inspect crimping, soldering, stripping, connector assembly, backshell assembly, heat‑shrink, sleeving, shielding and wire routing.
• Verify harness assemblies against engineering drawings, BOMs, wiring diagrams and customer specifications.
• Check wire identification, connector part numbers, terminal/pin configuration and pin‑outs.
• Identify and document workmanship defects such as:
• Improper crimping
• Damaged or cut wire strands
• Incorrect strip length
• Poor soldering / solder wetting
• Exposed conductors
• Loose or improperly locked terminals
• Pin misalignment
• Incorrect wire routing
• Incorrect shielding
• Improper backshell assembly
• Incorrect labelling or marking
• Perform/verify continuity and short‑circuit testing.
• Perform/verify Hi‑Pot and insulation resistance testing as applicable.
• Carry out dimensional and workmanship inspections using appropriate inspection tools.
• Maintain inspection reports, check sheets and quality records.
• Raise and track NCRs (Non‑Conformance Reports) and ensure proper rework/rectification.
• Support FAI (First Article Inspection) and customer inspection activities.
• Work closely with production to identify the root cause of recurring quality issues.
• Support 8D, CAPA and corrective/preventive actions.
• Maintain product traceability and inspection documentation.
• Support implementation and continual improvement of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
• Assist during internal and customer audits.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2–5 years of experience in wire harness / cable harness manufacturing or quality inspection.
• Good practical knowledge of IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 workmanship requirements.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, BOMs, wiring diagrams and pin‑out diagrams.
• Strong knowledge of crimping, soldering, connectorization and cable assembly.
• Experience in visual and dimensional inspection of harnesses.
• Knowledge of electrical testing such as continuity, short circuit, Hi‑Pot and insulation resistance.
• Ability to identify workmanship defects and communicate them clearly to production personnel.
• Knowledge of inspection tools such as Vernier caliper, crimp‑height gauge, measuring instruments, etc.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma / ITI / BE / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or related field.
• Experience in defence, aerospace, automotive or industrial cable harness manufacturing.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9100.
• Experience with NCR, CAPA, 8D and FAI documentation.
• IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 training or certification is an advantage.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a hands‑on quality professional who is comfortable working directly on the production floor.

The candidate should be able to inspect a harness against its drawing and customer requirements, identify defects, explain the issue to the production team, verify the correction and maintain proper quality records.

Candidates with strong wire‑harness production experience and good practical quality/inspection knowledge are encouraged to apply.

Salary

₹20,000 – ₹35,000 per month, depending on experience and technical skills.
