Job summary

Anuvega Technologies in Hyderabad is seeking an experienced cable and wire harness engineer to lead design, validation, and documentation efforts for harness assemblies. You will interact with customers for clarifications, design changes, and requirements, review drawings and BOMs, and coordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and PM teams.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in cable & wire harness manufacturing, assembly, or automotive/electrical systems.
• Experience leading a design/engineering team for harness development.
• Ability to coordinate with design, manufacturing, quality, procurement and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead cable and wire harness design, development, validation, and documentation.
• Handle customer communications for clarifications, changes, requirements, and issue resolution.
• Review customer drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and EC requirements.
• Coordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Project Management.
• Manage engineering changes and ensure timely implementation of customer requirements.
• Conduct technical discussions with customers and prepare action plans, reports, and presentations.
• Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and production ramp-up.
• Resolve routing, connectors, terminals, crimping, wire selection, shielding, EMC, and harness assembly issues.
• Mentor team members and monitor workload, quality, and project deliverables.
• Lead operators/technicians and oversee daily production, manpower, and line targets.

Job description

Role & responsibilities :

• Designed and developed cable and wire harness assemblies based on electrical, mechanical, and customer requirements.
• Created and maintained harness drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, pin-out details, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
• Selected suitable wires, terminals, connectors, seals, sleeves, conduits, clips, and other harness components.
• Performed wire routing and harness packaging while considering bend radius, clearance, accessibility, serviceability, and mechanical constraints.
• Prepared wire lists, cut lists, splice details, and harness assembly instructions.
• Verified connector pinning, wire gauge, terminal selection, circuit continuity, and electrical interfaces.
• Supported crimping, splicing, soldering, termination, and harness assembly activities.
• Conducted prototype builds, testing, validation, and production support for cable and harness assemblies.
• Troubleshot wiring issues including open circuits, short circuits, incorrect pinning, poor crimping, and connector-related failures.
• Applied DFM/DFA principles to improve manufacturability, reliability, assembly efficiency, and cost.
• Coordinated with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, supplier, and customer teams to resolve technical issues.
• Managed engineering changes and updated drawings, BOMs, specifications, and related technical documentation.
• Supported root-cause analysis and corrective actions for harness quality and production issues.
• Ensured harness designs and manufacturing processes complied with applicable customer and industry standards.

Preferred candidate profile :

• Experience: 5-10 years in cable & wire harness manufacturing, assembly, or automotive/electrical systems.

Technical skills:

• Lead a team responsible for cable and wire harness design, development, validation, and documentation.
• Handle customer communication for technical clarifications, design changes, requirements, and issue resolution.
• Review customer drawings, specifications, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and engineering change requirements.
• Coordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Project Management teams.
• Manage engineering changes and ensure timely implementation of customer requirements.
• Conduct technical discussions with customers and prepare action plans, reports, and presentations.
• Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and production ramp-up.
