Job summary

Loganathan Manickam is seeking a quality inspection professional for coatings QC in Bengaluru. The role involves incoming, in-process and final inspections, coating testing, and DOCs for quality records.

You will identify paint defects, verify surface preparation, and coordinate corrective actions on the shop floor. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with DFT gauges, gloss meters and related QC tools, plus basic RCA knowledge and familiarity with ISO 9001 processes.

Responsibilities

• Incoming Inspection – inspection of raw materials, paint/powder, components and surface condition.
• In-Process Inspection – monitoring pretreatment, blasting/surface preparation, coating application and curing parameters.
• Final Paint Inspection – visual finish, colour, defects and overall coating quality.
• Coating Testing – DFT, gloss, cross-hatch/adhesion test and other paint/coating quality parameters.
• Surface Preparation Knowledge – cleanliness, surface profile, pretreatment quality and contamination checks.
• Paint Defect Identification – ability to identify and understand causes of orange peel, pinholes, craters, runs/sags, poor adhesion, blistering, uneven DFT, etc.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA) – basic knowledge of 5 Why, Fishbone and problem-solving techniques.
• CAPA & 8D Documentation – ability to prepare/assist with corrective and preventive action and 8D reports.
• Quality Documentation – inspection reports, check sheets, NCRs, traceability records and test reports.
• Measuring Instruments – practical knowledge of DFT gauge, gloss meter, cross-cut kit, surface-profile gauge and related QC instruments.
• ISO/QMS Awareness – basic understanding of ISO 9001; internal audit experience would be an added advantage.
• Shop‑floor Quality Control – ability to independently identify, segregate and report non-conforming parts and coordinate corrective action with production.
