Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy in Delhi is seeking a QA/QC Inspector to perform hull and structural inspections, ensuring compliance with design specs and regulatory codes. You will oversee raw materials, welds, and final structures in a heavy fabrication environment.

Candidates should hold welding inspection certification (AWS CWI/CSWIP) and ASNT Level II in RT, UT, MPT, DPT. Maritime or heavy fabrication experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, naval architecture, or related field.
• Certification in welding inspection (AWS CWI/CSWIP) and ASNT Level II in RT/UT/MPT/DPT.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on hull and structural components to ensure design specs and quality standards.
• Monitor welding activities, check defects and verify WPS/WPQ compliance.
• Identify recurring quality issues, determine root causes, and propose corrective actions.
• Ensure safety protocols for QC activities, especially during welding and heavy handling.

Education

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field

Role & responsibilities

• Perform inspections on hull and structural components, including raw materials, welds, assemblies, and final structures, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and regulatory codes (such as ISO, IACS standards).
• Monitor welding activities, check for welding defects, and verify adherence to welding procedure specifications (WPS) and qualified welder performance (WPQ).
• Identify recurring quality issues, root causes, and suggest corrective and preventive actions to mitigate defects in hull and structural production.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to quality control activities, particularly for high-risk tasks such as welding and heavy structural handling

Preferred candidate profile

• Certification in welding inspection (e.g., AWS Certified Welding Inspector, CSWIP)
• ASNT level II in RT, UT, MPT and DPT
