Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy seeks a quality control inspector specialized in hull and structural components for shipbuilding. You will inspect raw materials, welds, assemblies, and final structures to ensure compliance with design specs and regulatory codes.

The role emphasizes welding supervision, adherence to WPS/WPQ, and identifying root causes of defects, with strong focus on safety during high-risk tasks such as welding and heavy structural handling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field is required.
• Certification in welding inspection (e.g., AWS CWI, CSWIP) preferred.
• ASNT Level II in RT, UT, MPT and DPT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on hull and structural components, including raw materials, welds, assemblies, and final structures, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and regulatory codes (ISO, IACS).
• Monitor welding activities, check for welding defects, and verify adherence to welding procedure specifications (WPS) and WPQ.
• Identify recurring quality issues, root causes, and suggest corrective and preventive actions to mitigate defects in hull and structural production.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to quality control activities, particularly for high-risk tasks such as welding and heavy structural handling
