Job summary

Virginia Transformer Corp in Vadodara, India seeks an Engineer/Senior Engineer - Quality Assurance to lead the quality function in transformer manufacturing. You will drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with applicable standards, and coordinate QA activities across supplier and production teams.

The role requires a BE in Electrical or Mechanical and 3–8 years of experience in the power transformer industry, with knowledge of transformer testing and CAPA/8D processes.

Qualifications

• BE in Electrical or Mechanical.
• 3-8 years of experience in Power Transformer QA.
• Knowledge of transformer testing is an added qualification.

Responsibilities

• Manage and control the quality function.
• Process audits and quality evaluation at manufacturers' works.
• Inspect electrical and mechanical parts and items used in transformers and components (copper products, core steel, insulation, transformer tanks, gaskets, air cells, HV bushings, radiators).
• Vendor development, training, improvement, and control.
• Understand customer needs to develop effective QC processes.
• Analyze CAPA/8D reports and implement corrective actions.
• Identify non-conformances and propose improvements.

Reporting to Sr. Manager, QA

Education: BE, Electrical or Mechanical

Experience: 3-8 years

In this position you will be responsible for

• Managing and controlling quality function.
• Knowledge of Transformer testing is added qualification.
• 03 Years experience in Power Transformer industry in Quality Department.
• Process Audit and quality evaluation at Manufacturers works
• Inspection of all Electricals and Mechanical parts and items required to Transformers and its components. Like Copper products (CTC/PICC/CABLES, BUSBARS), Core Steel, Insulation products, Transformer tanks, Gaskets, Air cells, High voltage bushing, Radiators and all other accessories.
• Vendor development, training, improvement, and control.
• Understanding customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes.
• Analyze and control the non-conforming product and implementing new system and method to prevent NC.
• Analysis of CAPA / 8D report
• Capable of identifying the Non-conformance and propose the solutions for improvement
• Knowledge of Integrated Management Systems (QMS, EMS, OHSAS), safety requirements and 5S methods.
• Knowledge of American Standard IEEE standards, CBIP and IEEMA for Raw materials and processes
• Fabrication Inspection - Knowledge of Non-Destructive Methods for DP, MPT, RT, UT as per ASNT-SNT-TC-1A; ASTM E709; ASTM E 164; ASTM E165; ASTM E515.
