Job summary

Rexel in Pune, India, is seeking an Experienced Quality Engineer to ensure compliance of electrical and automation components across panel fabrication and testing. You will perform in-process inspections, verify workmanship, and drive CAPA with cross-functional teams to meet customer specifications.

The role involves leading FAT activities, documenting quality records, and maintaining strict adherence to internal QA processes and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering with 3-8 years of experience in PLC, MCC, PCC, VFD, SCADA, or Industrial Automation Control Panel manufacturing and testing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance of incoming electrical and automation components through BOMs, specs and quality standards.
• Execute in-process quality inspections during panel fabrication, assembly, wiring, and integration activities.
• Verify workmanship including mounting, cable routing, ferruling, labeling, terminal dressing, and earthing per industry practices.
• Review conformity of control panel assemblies with customer specs, IEC standards, and internal QA systems.
• Conduct and document pre-dispatch inspections and testing: continuity, insulation, functional verification, I/O checks, interlocks.
• Lead FAT activities with customers and ensure timely closure of punch points before dispatch.
• Prepare and maintain quality documentation: inspection reports, test certificates, NCRs, records, compliance dossiers.
• Investigate deviations, perform root cause analysis, and drive CAPA to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with Engineering/Production/Procurement/Projects to resolve quality concerns and enhance reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement by monitoring KPIs, reducing rework/defects, improving first-pass yield and promoting a quality culture.

Job Description

• Ensure compliance of incoming electrical and automation components through systematic inspection against approved BOMs, technical specifications, and quality standards.
• Execute in-process quality inspections during panel fabrication, assembly, wiring, and integration activities to ensure adherence to approved engineering drawings and manufacturing procedures.
• Verify electrical and mechanical workmanship including component mounting, cable routing, ferruling, labeling, terminal dressing, and earthing arrangements in accordance with industry best practices.
• Review and ensure conformity of control panel assemblies with customer specifications, contractual requirements, IEC standards, and internal quality management systems.
• Conduct and document pre-dispatch inspections and testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, functional verification, I/O checks, and interlock validation.
• Lead and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities with customers, ensuring timely closure of punch points and successful acceptance of systems prior to dispatch.
• Prepare, maintain, and control quality documentation, including inspection reports, test certificates, NCRs, quality records, and project-specific compliance dossiers.
• Investigate quality deviations and non-conformities, perform root cause analysis, and drive effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Project teams to resolve quality concerns and enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by monitoring quality KPIs, reducing rework and defects, improving first-pass yield, and promoting a culture of quality within the organization.
