Job summary

Shreeji Flowtech Systems in Ahmedabad seeks an Engineer/Senior Engineer - Quality Control to join the Quality department. You will inspect, test, and verify packaging machines across incoming, in-process, and final stages to ensure conformance to customer specs and regulatory requirements.

The role requires 4–6 years of QC/QA experience in packaging machinery or automation, hands-on with measurement tools, and ability to read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering.
• 4-6 years in Quality Control/Quality Assurance in packaging machinery or capital equipment.
• Hands-on with inspection tools and measurement instruments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out incoming inspection of bought-out components (motors, PLCs, sensors, pneumatics) as per specifications and outsourced jobs.
• Perform in-process inspection during machining, fabrication and assembly
• Conduct final inspection of machines before dispatch
• Check filling accuracy and consistency, capping torque and sealing integrity and label placement precision
• Verify overall machine performance during trials against functional parameters (accuracy, speed, efficiency) and customer URS.
• Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and assist during customer inspections
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all quality checks performed

Role : Engineer / Sr. Engineer - Quality Control

Department : Quality

Band / Grade : E1/E2

Direct Repartees: Nil (may guide Quality Inspectors/Technicians)

Reporting To Manager- Quality Control

Location : Ahmedabad

Role Purpose : Support the Quality Control function by carrying out inspection, testing and quality checks on packaging machines (filling, capping, labeling, sealing systems and integrated lines) at incoming, in-process and final stages, ensuring conformance to defined quality standards, customer specifications and regulatory requirements and escalating deviations for timely resolution.

Role Specifications

Quality Control (Machine Inspection & Testing)

• Carry out incoming inspection of bought-out components (motors, PLCs, sensors, pneumatics) as per specifications and outsourced jobs.
• Perform in-process inspection during machining, fabrication and assembly

Quality Systems & Compliance

• Follow and help sustain the Quality Management System (QMS) as per ISO 9001 and applicable customer-specific requirements
• Work as per approved SOPs, control plans and standardized inspection formats
• Support internal and external audit readiness by maintaining required records
• Assist in verifying the quality of critical bought-out components affecting machine performance
• Support incoming quality checks and coordinate with Purchase for vendor-related quality issues.

Process Improvement & Problem Solving

• Report non-conformances, customer complaints and internal rejections observed during inspection
• Support root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone) under guidance of the QC Manager
• Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives viz Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, 5S, Lean practices
• Support execution of testing protocols for trial runs, machine validation and performance benchmarking
• Assist with readiness for FAT / Site Acceptance Test (SAT) as required

Team Collaboration

• Coordinate with Production, Design and Purchase teams to resolve day-to-day quality issues
• Work closely with Technicians on shopfloor inspection activities
• Support the Manager Quality Control in building a culture of "Quality at Source" on the shopfloor
• Escalate quality risks and recurring issues promptly to the Manager Quality Control

Educational Qualification:
Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Production or Industrial Engineering
Experience: 4-6 years of experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance in packaging machinery / capital equipment / automation industry
Technical Skills / Knowledge:

• Working knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001, basic QMS documentation)
• Must have : Hands-on with inspection tools and measurement instruments (vernier, micrometer, gauges, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Understanding of packaging machine performance parameters (filling, capping, labeling, sealing)
• Exposure to pneumatics, electrical systems and machine integration
• Familiarity with root cause analysis tools (5 Why, Fishbone) and reporting formats
