Role & responsibilities
We are looking for a detail-oriented Line, Final & Visual Inspector to ensure that aerospace components and assemblies meet defined quality, dimensional, visual, and customer requirements. The role involves in-process inspection, final inspection, defect identification, documentation, and close coordination with Production and Quality teams.
1. In-Process / Line Inspection
- Conduct in-process (line) quality inspections at various stages of production as per approved drawings, specifications, SOPs, control plans, and inspection checklists.
- Monitor process parameters and ensure adherence to defined quality standards during manufacturing.
- Perform dimensional, visual, and functional checks using appropriate measuring and inspection instruments.
- Monitor production quality
- Suggest improvements to reduce defects
- Support continuous improvement activities
2. Final Inspection
- Conduct final inspection of finished aerospace components before transfer to PDI/Dispatch.
- Verify dimensions, workmanship, surface condition, identification/traceability, and other customer-specific requirements.
- Review inspection records and ensure all required operations and quality checks are completed.
- Ensure products comply with approved drawings, specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements.
- Identify, document, and control non-conforming products before final release.
- Coordinate with PDI/Dispatch teams to ensure only conforming products are released.
3. Visual Inspection
- Perform detailed visual inspection of aerospace components for scratches, dents, burrs, cracks, surface defects, tool marks, contamination, improper finishing, and other visual abnormalities.
- Inspect components under appropriate lighting and magnification where required.
- Verify workmanship and appearance against approved standards, samples, drawings, and customer specifications.
- Record visual defects accurately and support defect classification and rejection analysis.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of GD&T
- Knowledge of measuring instruments
- Knowledge of CMM inspection
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards
- Good documentation skills
Preferred Skills (Aerospace Industry)
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, Thread Gauges, Gauges, etc.
- Knowledge of basic GD&T and tolerance interpretation is preferred.
- Good observation and defect-identification skills.
- Basic knowledge of quality tools such as 5 Why, Poka-Yoke, SPC, Pareto, and CAPA.
Preferred candidate profile
- Experience with AS9100,NATCAP
- Experience in aerospace machining industry
- Knowledge of FAI, PPAP, CAPA
- Position: Sr QA Engineer-Final /Line
