Job summary

Tiruchirapalli Engineering And Technology Cluster in Tiruchirappalli invites a Quality Inspector to oversee incoming materials, in-process components and finished products for conformance to drawings and quality standards.

You will monitor welding, fabrication and dimensional accuracy, prepare inspection reports and non-conformance records, and coordinate with production, welding, machining and engineering teams to resolve issues and ensure timely completion of jobs.

Role & responsibilities

Quality inspection: Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Fabrication quality: Monitor welding, fabrication, dimensional accuracy, fit-up, and finishing activities.

Machine shop quality: Inspect machined components using appropriate measuring instruments and verify dimensions against engineering drawings.

Documentation: Prepare and maintain inspection reports, quality records, checklists, and non-conformance reports.

Quality control: Identify defects, support root-cause analysis, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.

Process compliance: Ensure fabrication and machining activities follow approved procedures, drawings, and quality requirements.

Coordination: Work closely with production, welding, machining, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and ensure timely completion of jobs.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical knowledge in quality control for heavy fabrication and heavy machine shop

Knowledge of engineering drawings, dimensional inspection, and GD&T
Hands-on experience with measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, and bore gauge

Knowledge of welding and fabrication inspection

Ability to identify defects and prepare quality inspection reports

Good communication and coordination skills

Attention to detail and problem-solving ability

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
