Job summary

Lal Sweets in Bengaluru seeks an Executive / Senior Executive – Quality Control to ensure product quality, food safety and regulatory compliance across raw materials to finished goods. You will monitor quality parameters, support audits, handle customer complaints, and approve packaging artworks following FSSAI guidelines.

The role requires hands-on FMCG experience in sweets or snacks and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

  • B.Tech/B.Sc./M.Sc. in Food Technology, Food Science, Dairy Technology, Microbiology, or related.
  • 1–4 years in Quality Control/Quality Assurance within the FMCG Food Manufacturing Industry.
  • Experience in Ethnic Sweets, Namkeen, Bakery, Cookies, Snacks, or Confectionery manufacturing.
  • Good knowledge of FSSAI regulations, HACCP, GMP, GHP, 5S, Food Safety Management Systems, and documentation practices.
  • Hands‑on experience in compliance activities, packaging artwork approval, audit handling, CAPA, and root cause analysis.
  • Exposure to internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits will be an added advantage.
  • Good analytical, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the quality of raw materials, packaging materials, in-process products, and finished goods as per company specifications.
  • Conduct routine quality inspections and testing throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure compliance with FSSAI, GMP, GHP, HACCP, 5S, and other applicable food safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor production processes and report any quality deviations to ensure timely corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Handle customer and market complaints by performing root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actions in coordination with Production and R&D teams.
  • Approve packaging artworks by verifying statutory declarations, ingredient lists, nutritional information, allergen declarations, batch coding, and label compliance as per FSSAI guidelines.
  • Coordinate and support internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits, ensuring timely closure of audit observations.
  • Maintain quality documentation, inspection records, calibration records, and compliance reports.
  • Conduct shelf-life studies and monitor product stability to ensure product quality throughout its shelf life.
  • Verify vendor quality documents and support supplier quality evaluations.
  • Ensure proper hygiene, sanitation, and GMP practices are followed across production and warehouse areas.
  • Support new product trials and validate quality parameters before commercial production.
  • Train production operators on quality standards, hygiene practices, and food safety requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, CAPA, and quality improvement projects.

Role Overview

The Executive / Senior Executive – Quality Control will be responsible for ensuring product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance across raw materials, in-process production, packaging materials, and finished goods.
