Job summary

Godrej Aerospace in Mumbai is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to lead QA plan creation, inspection, and regulatory clearance across aerospace components and assemblies. You will ensure compliance with AS9100, EMS, OHSAS and ISMS standards, coordinate with customers and labs, and drive QMS improvement initiatives.

Essential: degree/diploma in mechanical/production/aerospace/instrumentation, with 3–5 years in QA for aerospace parts.

Qualifications

• AS9100, EMS, OHSAS & ISMS compliance knowledge required.
• Strong knowledge of inspection instruments and GD&T.
• Experience with aerospace materials and processes.

Responsibilities

Job Description

1.Quality Assurance Plan creation:-Study of customer Purchase order, drawings, standards and regulatory requirement and Develop Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and get it approved from customer and inspection agencies.-Ballooning of drawings and preparation of inspection plans.-Selection of the technically right and competitive instruments for the reliable results and setting inspection plan. -APQP, PPAP submission.-Understanding of special process and NDT requirements to prepare the inspection stages and approval.-On-time Inspection and Documentation, FAI Documentation with the use of approved inspection plans.-Defect Free Supply of Parts to customer-Controlling of Nonconforming product at appropriate Stage & Inspection level and raising nonconformance in system.-Effective utilization of metrology resources and reduction on cost of Quality.-Effective System Implementation by following the requirements as per the applicable International (AS9100, OHSE & ISMS) & Customer specific standards.-Effective coordination with internal and external customer to enhance customer trust and confidence on system.2. Inspection of Parts & Standard room operations:-Hands on the CMM programming, Roundness tester, surface roughness and contour tester, portable arm type machine-Inspection and testing of the Parts/Assemblies including special process and ensure quality assurance across the manufacturing process.-Measurement System Analysis and Statistical Process Control on shop-Review and approve QA matrices, inspection plans, control plans and technical documentation aligned with standards and specifications.-Assess raw material test certificates and identify discrepancies related to QAPs, standards, and inspection plans.-Conduct or coordinate testing in internal, supplier, or NABL-approved laboratories.-Analyse material failures and propose corrective actions based on inspection findings.-Liaise with test laboratories, customers, and inspection agencies to ensure smooth coordination and compliance.-Drive QMS implementation and uphold compliance with internal and external quality systems.3. Clearance & Regulatory Coordination:-Coordinate the clearance of raw materials, parts from customers and third-party inspection agencies.-Prepare and maintain the necessary documentation required for material clearance and regulatory approvals.-Participate in Nonconformance Review Board, Godrej Quality Forum GQF, and CFT (Cross Functional Teams) meetings to provide expert input on raw material-related issues and approvals.4. Adherence to Compliance:-Ensure adherence to systems and documentation as per AS9100, EMS, OHSAS & ISMS, and customer-specific requirements. -Valuing the information received & effort spent in creating every piece of information. Ensuring the right information is accessed by right individuals. Ensuring Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of information.-Responsible to control usage of energy sources for Environmental protection and Energy Security for sustainable growth.5. Organisational Imperatives:-Participate in improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, PMO, Cross functional projects and Business Excellence etc.-To ensure Enterprise Risk Management for Key Processes, Subordinate and Team Development and Adherence to Compliance and Safe Working Environment-Follow Values, Code of Conduct and Business Ethics and Safety practices in all work operations.
