Job summary

NEOEPC LLP in Mumbai-based operations seeks a QA/QC Engineer – Fabrication & Erection for an on-site role in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. You will ensure fabrication and erection meet drawings, specs, codes and approved procedures, coordinating with clients and inspectors to maintain quality records.

You will inspect piping and structural fabrication, verify materials, welds and alignments, manage NCRs and ITPs, and support project handover with documented dossiers.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Civil required.
• Relevant QA/QC for piping, structural fabrication and erection experience.
• Experience in EPC/Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Fertilizer or Process Plant projects preferred.
• Strong welding, fabrication and erection inspection knowledge.
• Familiarity with WPS/PQR, ITP, MTC, NCR and NDT procedures; read drawings.

Role Description

NEOEPC is looking for a QA/QC Engineer – Fabrication & Erection for an on-site role in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.

The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that fabrication and erection activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and approved quality procedures.

The role will involve inspection and quality control of piping and structural fabrication and erection activities, including material verification, fit-up inspection, welding inspection, dimensional checks, visual inspection, and coordination of NDT activities. The engineer will also be responsible for maintaining inspection records, preparing quality documentation, raising and closing NCRs, coordinating with client/third-party inspectors, and ensuring compliance with approved ITPs, WPS/PQRs, and project quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor QA/QC activities for piping and structural fabrication and erection at site.
• Conduct material receiving inspection and verify materials against approved specifications and MTCs.
• Inspect fit-up, alignment, dimensions, welding and fabrication activities.
• Verify compliance with approved WPS/PQR, ITPs, drawings, specifications and applicable codes.
• Coordinate and monitor NDT activities such as RT, DPT, MPI and UT, as applicable.
• Conduct visual inspection of welds and fabrication works.
• Monitor erection activities to ensure proper alignment, installation and workmanship.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, quality records and documentation.
• Coordinate with client representatives and third-party inspection agencies.
• Identify, document and follow up on NCRs, corrective actions and rework.
• Support preparation and submission of quality dossiers and project handover documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable ASME, API, ISO and project-specific standards.
• Coordinate with fabrication, erection, welding and project teams to resolve quality issues.
• Support project audits and ensure proper maintenance of QA/QC records at site.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in QA/QC for piping fabrication, structural fabrication and erection.
• Experience in EPC, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Fertilizer or Process Plant projects will be preferred.
• Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication and erection inspection practices.
• Familiarity with WPS/PQR, ITP, MTC, NCR, welding inspection and NDT procedures.
• Knowledge of applicable ASME, API and ISO standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, piping isometrics, fabrication drawings and structural drawings.
• Strong documentation, reporting and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with site teams, contractors and clients.
