Job summary

K Bhupal Engineers And Contractors Karnataka is seeking a seasoned Mechanical QA/QC professional to oversee inspection, testing, and quality assurance across mechanical works on site.

The role requires extensive experience in INfrastructure, water supply, pumping stations, pipeline projects, and related mechanical installation works, with strong document control, reporting, and compliance with IS/ASTM/ASME/API/ISO standards.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and inspect mechanical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections of mechanical equipment, piping, fabrication, installation, and related works.
  • Verify incoming materials, equipment, and components against approved specifications and material inspection requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, inspection reports, and quality records.
  • Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, contractors, and consultants regarding quality-related activities.
  • Conduct inspections at various stages of mechanical installation and fabrication.
  • Ensure proper welding, fabrication, alignment, installation, and testing procedures are followed.
  • Review material test certificates, inspection certificates, calibration certificates, and other quality documents.
  • Monitor pressure testing, hydro testing, leak testing, and other applicable mechanical tests.
  • Identify non-conformities and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare and follow up on NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and ensure timely closure.
  • Ensure all measuring and testing instruments are properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Conduct quality inspections and maintain daily/weekly quality reports.
  • Assist in internal and external quality audits.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable IS, ASTM, ASME, API, ISO, and project-specific standards wherever applicable.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records for final project handover and commissioning.
  • Coordinate with the QA/QC Manager and Project Manager for resolving quality issues.
  • Ensure safety and quality requirements are followed during all mechanical activities in planning and executing project activities.

Preferred Skills


  • BE/B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Experience in Mechanical QA/QC / Quality Control is preferred.

  • Candidates with experience in infrastructure, water supply, pumping stations, pipeline projects, industrial projects, or mechanical installation works will be preferred.

  • Good knowledge of mechanical inspection procedures and quality documentation.

  • Knowledge of relevant engineering codes and standards.

  • Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills.

  • Ability to work at project sites and coordinate with multiple teams.


Preferred Experience


  • 25 years of experience in Mechanical Quality Control / QA-QC.

  • Experience in water supply projects, pumping stations, mechanical equipment installation, MS/DI/HDPE pipelines, fabrication, or infrastructure projects will be an advantage.

  • Experience in inspection, testing, documentation, and quality compliance.
